AI News
AI will make its debut on Apple’s Vision Pro. Apple focuses on making its devices last longer while investing heavily in artificial intelligence and software development to keep its products competitive and innovative.
Warehouse Robots are going live. Agility Robotics' humanoid robot, Digit, has started its first official job at a Spanx facility in Connecticut. It helps move items around, marking a significant step in using robots for real-world tasks.
The current Heavyweight champion is Amazon. Amazon is thriving in the AI market by leveraging its cloud computing services, while many enterprise software companies struggle to generate significant revenue from AI technologies.
AI brings voices back from the dead. Thanks to partnerships with their estates, ElevenLabs' new Reader App uses AI to let users listen to texts narrated by the voices of classic Hollywood stars like Judy Garland, James Dean, Burt Reynolds, and Sir Laurence Olivier.
AI-powered software creation. Magic, an AI coding startup, seeks to raise over $200 million in a new funding round that would value the company at $1.5 billion despite having no revenue or products for sale yet. This highlights the strong investor interest in AI-powered software development tools.
The French ChatGPT competitor. French billionaire Xavier Niel's AI lab, Kyutai, has introduced a new voice assistant called Moshi. It can express 70 different emotions and speaks with a distinctive French accent. Moshi aims to compete with ChatGPT by offering real-time, human-like interactions.
Perplexity AI’s upgrade has upgraded its Pro Search AI tool, enhancing its ability to handle complex research, math, and programming tasks. It also now offers a subscription plan for more extensive use.
AI now has mind-reading powers. Researchers have developed an AI system that can accurately reconstruct images a person or animal is viewing by analyzing their brain activity. The most precise results came from direct brain recordings in a macaque monkey, while less invasive fMRI scans of humans also show promising but less accurate reconstructions.
Can a cop give an AI a driving ticket? A Waymo self-driving car in Phoenix was pulled over by police after it mistakenly drove into an oncoming traffic lane due to confusing construction signs, ran a red light, and then stopped in a parking lot. This highlights challenges in enforcing traffic laws on autonomous vehicles.
The future of AI in Healthcare. Medical professionals are increasingly incorporating artificial intelligence into their practices, with AI expected to play a significant role in healthcare, potentially enhancing diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient care.
