The MOST AMAZING ChatGPT plugin was just released — code interpreter. This plugin allows us to upload data, conduct data analysis, generate reports, and even download into a PDF document.
The best part? All this is done in seconds. If you are running a business and thought you needed to hire an intern to perform the number crunching and fancy reports, think again.
Here’s a quick preview of what you can do with ChatGPT’s Code Interpreter.
Before we get started, I wanted to plant this seed. now imagine we are a small business in selling office supplies across various regions. We are considering bringing a part time employee to conduct data analytics for us. Let’s hold our horses, we can use ChatGTP Code Interpreter.
Think About a Small Business
First things first — Enable Code Interpreter
To enable the code interpreter plugin, click on the three dots located in the bottom left corner and select Settings.
A new window will pop up. Select “Beta Features” and enable “Code Interpreter” as shown below.
ChatGPT Settings - Enable Code Interpreter
After that open a new chat and select GPT-4. You should see the code interpreter listed in the dropdown.
Note: On July 6th, OpenAI announced that the code interpreter will be available to all ChatGPT Plus users over the next week. In case, you still don’t have it yet, keep checking the Beta Features during the week.
Now let’s explore what we can do with the code interpreter.
ChatGPT’s Code Interpreter can generate a quick report and provide a link to download it in PDF format
Now that the code interpreter is enabled, we can upload a new file. In the chat bar, you should see a new plus icon. Click on it to upload this dataset about our small business sales from 2021 to 2022.
After uploading the file, you should see this.
Here’s the prompt we’ll use to start with a quick analysis.
Analyze the dataset and make charts and graphs to show the which regions have the most sales
First, a quick overview of regional sales is provided.
Then we get our graphs
But my favorite part is that you can export all this as a report in PDF format. Here’s the prompt that gets this done.
Answer it in the form of a multiple pages PDF download
